Kurniawan draws inspiration from a historic ikat textile from Sumba, translating its aesthetic heritage into a refined warp-printed design. Crafted from 100% cotton, it is woven for durability as well as its soft, tactile quality.

During weaving, the weft yarn in the net warp is carefully removed from the back to ensure precise insertion from the front. This intricate step is repeated every meter along the length of the fabric, slowing production but ensuring exceptional accuracy and detail in the final design. Kurniawan honors the legacy of Indonesia’s ikat traditions, blending historic techniques with modern craftsmanship to produce an extremely useable textile of timeless elegance and cultural depth.
